News - Ealing Fostering and Adoption

It’s Foster Care Fortnight 15-28 May 2023. Organised by The Fostering Network, the UK’s leading fostering charity, the annual campaign is to increase awareness of fostering and to encourage more people to consider becoming a foster carer. It also is a time to acknowledge the amazing work of all our foster carers in Ealing.

This year the theme is #fosteringcommunities to celebrate all the fostering community does to ensure children are cared for and supported to thrive. Ealing’s Fostering Recruitment Team have arranged some events during the fortnight and in the summer, details can be found on our events page.

October 2022 was Black History Month and this year the theme was “Time for Change: Action Not Words.” Black History Month is not just a time to celebrate the achievements and contributions of Black people to the UK across the world, it’s also a time for continued action to tackle racism, reclaim Black history, and ensure Black history is represented and celebrated throughout the year.

June 2022 was Pride Month, celebrating 50 years of Pride in the UK. This year Pride acknowledged the achievements of the LBGTQ+ community during the past 50 years as well as looking forward to the next 50 years. There were lots of special events that took place across London and the UK throughout the month. You can find out more on the Pride London website.
